Epiphany Day

I just carried out one of the traditions carried out by the Catholic citizens, namely celebrating the Day of the Epiphany or the Feast of the Appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Epiphany Day is celebrated to celebrate:

- The coming of the Lord in human form through His Only Begotten Son – Jesus Christ

- The event where the 3 Magi/Kings came to meet the newborn Lord Jesus Christ and gave Him valuable treasures

- The peak of the Christmas Season or the celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ, which is celebrated from December 25 to January 5 every year

Epiphany Day is usually observed on the first Sunday in January – at the beginning of the year. In 2024, the first Sunday will be January 7th.

On Epiphany Day, I blessed my house by writing prayers/wishes on the door of the house using chalk that had been blessed by the Priest.

The prayer/wish written on the door of the house using chalk is:

"20 ✝ C ✝ M ✝ B ✝ 24"

* The numbers follow the year at the time of writing: 2024

* The sign of the Cross points to my Beloved Lord Jesus Christ

* The letters C, M, and B are abbreviations for the names of the Magi (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar), or can also be interpreted as Christus Mansionem Benedicat (“May the Lord Jesus Christ bless this house”)

After writing the prayer/wish above, I prayed: "May my Beloved Lord Jesus Christ bless my house. Amen."

This prayer/wish is made so that:

- The Lord Jesus Christ is always present in my house

- I am saved from evils

- My house is protected from evil spirits

On the door of my house, I also placed the Never Failing Novena Prayer. I placed this prayer on the door of my house so that I always pray when I leave the house.

May my Lord Jesus Christ always bless my home and me. May Jesus always be present in my house and me. Thank you, my Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Mary, Saint Joseph, the Holy Spirit, Saint Michael, Saint Rafael and Saint Gabriel. Please pray for me, bless me, guide me, protect me, and save me. Thank You. In The Name Of Jesus. Amen.

Process To Celebrate Epiphany Day And Bless My Home

Below are all the prayers I said to celebrate the Day of the Epiphany and bless my home that I did myself. I modified all these prayers from the prayers given by EWTN, the Holy Bible, and “Puji Syukur”.

* First Process: Epiphany Prayer

In The Name Of The Father, And Of The Son, And Of The Holy Spirit. Amen.

The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ is with this house and all who live here. Magi from the East came to Bethlehem to worship the Lord Jesus; and open their treasure chests. They presented Him with precious gifts: gold for the Great King Jesus, incense for the True Lord Christ, and myrrh as a Symbol of His Greatness. Hallelujah!

Luke 1:46-55: Holy Mary's Song of Praise.

"Mary said, “My heart praises the Lord, and my soul rejoices in God my Savior. He remembers me, His humble servant!

From now on, all nations say I am happy. Because Almighty God is doing great things to me. Holy is His Name!

Generation after generation, God has mercy on those who fear Him. With His mighty hand, He scatters the proud and confounds their plans. He removed kings from their thrones and exalted the lowly. He satisfies the hungry with all goodness and sends the rich away empty.

He helped His servant Israel, according to the promise He made with our ancestors. God has not forgotten His Promise, He has been merciful to Abraham and his descendants forever."

Glory Be To The Father as in the beginning.

My Father's Prayer:

"My Father, Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come.

Thy Will be done,

on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give me this day my daily bread.

And forgive me my trespasses,

as I forgive those who trespass against me.

And lead me not into temptation,

but deliver me from evil,

And give me peace.

For You are the Majesty and Powerful King forever and ever.

Amen."

Lord Jesus, pay attention to my prayer and let my cry be heard by You. The Lord Christ is with me, and may He also be with me.

Lord, who this day revealed Thy Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to all nations through the guidance of a star, grant me faith to know Thee, and to see Thee Heavenly Majesty; through Christ my Lord. Amen.

Be enlightened and shine, O Jerusalem, for your Light has come; and the Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary, has risen. Nations will walk in Your Light, and kings in the Splendor of Your Birth. And the Glory of the Lord has risen upon You.

Lord God Almighty, bless + this house, and under the Shade of Jesus, grant health, holiness, self-conquest, humility, kindness, gentleness, and obedience to those who live in this house.

Prayer and thanksgiving to the Lord the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. May His Blessings always remain in this house and on those who live here; through Christ my Lord. Amen.
